Torrhen's Square is a strong castle of the North, an impressive fortress with thirty-feet-high stone walls and a stout, square keep within. It is located on the shores of lake at north-western end of the Barrowlands. It is the seat of House Tallhart.

During the War of the Five Kings Torrhen's Square was captured by ironborn raiders under Dagmer Cleftjaw. It was then recaptured by Ser Rodrik Cassel previous to the destruction of Winterfell.
